A mother who drowned during floods in Texas has been identified as Collette Sulcer. The 41-year-old was swept away by the strong currents in the Texas floods while trying to carry her daughter Jordyn to safety. Rescuers found little Jordyn alive, clinging to her mother's lifeless body. According to reports, the tragedy happened when the 41-year-old got stuck in Beaumont as she tried to flee rising waters in her car caused by Tropical Storm Harvey. Police said Collette tried desperately to keep her daughter’s head above water. When she was found half a mile away from the scene, Jordyn was still clinging to her mother's floating body. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is searching for two women police say dressed up as nuns and attempted to rob a bank in Pennsylvania on Monday. A surveillance image provided by WNEP shows two would-be bank robbers dressed as nuns as they attempted to rob Citizens Bank near Tannersville, WNEP reported. Police say the two women entered the bank and showed a gun to one of the tellers but another teller activated an alarm, which they believe could have scared off the would-be robbers. Both left the without taking anything, WNEP reported. It was unclear if the two fled the area on foot or in a vehicle, but the FBI is investigating the raid

Jackson Igwebuike, who is accused of importing 10 kilograms of the drug ice inside three fish statues was found guilty in Australia, today, despite maintaining he was set up by a friend. Igwebuike, 34, maintained throughout his trial in the ACT Supreme Court that he was tricked into transporting the drugs, which he was caught with while trying to board a bus from Canberra to Sydney. Igwebuike said he agreed to deliver the fish statues to help his friend's decor business, as the friend had helped him when he came to Australia to study. But he said two men came and broke open the statues, revealing packaging wrapped in black, and demanded he take them to Sydney. He told the court the men threatened him with a gun and a picture of his wife, who was in Nigeria. Igwebuike told the court he realised what was happening but he was scared and unable to back out. Abubakar Malami, Nigeria's justice minister and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) has revealed why the country has not retrieved its fund stuck in South Africa. Malami said Nigeria has not been able to retrieve the funds because of some cumbersome processes. The minister spoke while giving details of the activities of his ministry in the last one year Nigeria is yet to access the $15 million allegedly meant for the purchase of arms and seized by the South African government during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan. The Nation is reporting that the inability of Nigeria to retrieve the fund is because of ‘diplomatic intricacies and the long processes’.  According to the report, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, said the same hindrance was behind the government’s inability to repatriate looted funds.

Humanitarian workers have pulled out of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp located on Gubio road in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital following last weekend's attack on some donors by the IDPs. On Saturday, some donors who visited the camp to donate food items to the IDPs, were attacked and their vehicles destroyed by the IDPs who complained that the food item they brought was too small.  As a result of the attack, all humanitarian workers in the camp yesterday announced they were pulling out of the camp and that they would only resume when their safety is guaranteed. One of the IDPs, Ibrahim Abubakar, who spoke to Channels TV, said the donors gave them small portions of sorghum that they should manage for a month or two. “We were angry with these people (humanitarian workers) not because of the sorghum they gave us, but because we simply asked for a quantity that would adequately feed us and our families.
