Jose Mourinho lashed out on inflated fees
Jose Mourinho has lashed out at the inflated fees being quoted for players in the transfer market today, and has insisted they will not be held ransom.
The Manchester United manager has seen primary target Alvaro Morata agree to join Chelsea, while they continue to struggle to land another target Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, both due to financial disagreements with their respective clubs.
United paid Everton an initial £75 million, rising to £90 million, for Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku and also signed Sweden defender Victor Lindelof, but they have so far balked at inter Milan's £49million valuation of Ivan Perisic.
Mourinho said he is now prepared to settle for one more signing as opposed to two after claiming United would not pay inflated fees for modest players like some rivals clubs who view the market differently.
