Five Killed In Fresh Boko Haram Attack On Borno Village

At least five villagers have been killed and many wounded when Boko Haram terrorists attacked a village in southern part of Borno state yesterday.


The terrorist group stormed a remote village of Azur in Damboa local government area at about 8:30 am, shooting sporadically and burning down houses after carting away foodstuffs and livestock.


A member of vigilantes group in Damboa town, Abubakar Jojo said the attackers overpowered the vigilantes.


"They came and opened fire on our men on guard, we lost three member and two others. They overpowered our members and wounded 9 persons"


" They looted our foodstuffs and made away with livestock including goats and rams thereafter they set ablaze our houses," said Abubakar.


The latest attack is coming barely after 24 hours after more than 40 people including staff of NNPC, University of Maiduguri, Nigerian troops, and CJTF were ambushed and killed in Magumeri local government area.


The Islamist terrorist group had intensified attacks in recent weeks claiming lives of both military and civilians.
