The actor, who has been battling diabetes for years, was said to have been rushed to the hospital on Monday, August 28, after he developed a fever on Sunday. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.

Medical doctors in Osun state have given the state government a 21-day ultimatum to accede to their demands or risk total withdrawal of their services. This is just as the state government appealed for their understanding in the face of the current economic challenges. At a press conference in Osogbo, the state capital, chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association in the state Tokunbo Olajumoke said health care delivery in the state has been negatively affected, owing to challenges pervading the sector. Olajumoke who acknowledged the recent employment of some medical practitioners said the challenges facing the sector which includes payment of modulated salaries, have made some of them resign their appointments. He said the association will be left with no choice but to declare an industrial action after the expiration of the 21-day ultimatum. President Muhammadu Buhari has met with the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udoma, Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun , and Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele. President Buhari was briefed on the improving state of the economy, implementation of the 2017 Budget, preparation for the 2018 Budget, revenue strategies and debt management. Also discussed were monetary policy strategies and their economic impact, among others. The Rivers State Police Command has offered a one million naira reward to anyone with useful information that can lead to the arrest of the suspected ritual killer who escaped from police custody. The state police commissioner, Zaki Ahmed disclosed this while giving update on the ongoing efforts to rearrest the fleeing suspect. Ifeanyichukwu Dike was earlier arrested for the alleged murder of an 8-year old girl for ritual purposes. The police commissioner also added that the investigating police officer who was in charge of the case, sergeant John Bosko has been dismissed from the force and is currently facing trial. In a related development, CP Ahmed listed the arrest of 7 suspected kidnappers and 13 suspected armed robbers as some of the command’s achievements within the months of June and August 2017

31-year-old Miss Olivia Uchechi, who was set to wed soon  died in an unfortunate accident at Adoration Ministry in Uke, Idemili North Local Governemnt Area of Anambra on August 15th. Ihionu reportedly got engaged last December and was preparing for her wedding set for December 2017. It was gathered the young lady drowned after she was carried away by flood. According to online reports, she fell into the gutter while easing herself and got swept off by the flood and her body was found in a neighboring village. Her remains would leave the Mater Amabilis mortuary in Akokwa today,  Monday, August 27, for her father’s compound in Umuyaku Umuopia in Akokwa, where she will be laid to rest after a funeral service at St Jude Catholic Church.
