Justin Bieber has apologised to his fans after cancelling the remaining dates of his Purpose World Tour because of "unforeseen circumstances". The move affects 14 dates in Asia and North America which were coming up over the next three months. Bieber told celebrity news website TMZ.com: "I'm sorry for anybody who feels disappointed or betrayed." The singer has performed more than 150 shows on the tour, promoting his 2015 album Purpose, since March 2016. The tour grossed $93.2m (£71.5m) in the first half of 2017, with an average of almost 40,000 ticket sales per date. Bieber added: "I have been on tour for two years. The Biafran Reformation Movement (BRM) has put a clog in the reported progress of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu. The BRM, on Monday July 24, while Kanu was relishing some support in Ebonyi state, said the IPOB leader was carrying out actions dangerous to the interest of the Igbo people. While speaking with journalists in Enugu, the leader of the group, Mr Ndubuisi Igwekani, said Kanu’s call for the boycott of Anambra election was ill-mannered. He said Kanu was behaving like an enemy to the Igbo people adding that the forthcoming election in Anambra state must hold. According to him, if the election is scuttled, it could lead to a state of emergency being imposed on the state. He said: “Anybody that says there won’t be election is making mistake. Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has reacted to Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode's comment on the new photo released last Sunday showing President Buhari having lunch with some APC governors and APC chieftains. FFK released a statement yesterday where he alleged that the photo was taken during a Ramadan celebration in Abuja sometime ago. The National Council on Information (NCI) has recommended the “setting up of a council to regulate the use of social media in Nigeria”. The recommendation is contained in a communique issued at the end of Extraordinary Meeting of NCI on Hate Speeches, Fake News and National Unity held last week in Jos, Plateau state. According to DailyTrust, the Council which was presided over by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, recommended the use of stringent measures in checking conventional media and their programmes.  The Council noted that Social media has no address, and as such vetting and editing posting in social media might be difficult. . The Council also recommended that Information managers at the state level should open a website that would immediately counter report of any misinformation posted on social media. .
